A combination of subscription ip blocklists like that sold by MaxMind combined with DNS and application filtering services like Umbrella would catch most services. For good measure I'd toss in local .exe application whitelisting running on each of the schools machines to only allow the applications the school wants using something like applocker which is included in windows so it probably fits into their budget. We've been very happy with Cisco's Umbrella product. A few years back I "test drove" the free version, but thats a very poor substitute for the paid product. It's not cheap, but it has worked very well for us. Over 70% of our users are remote since the start of COVID, so we opted for the "roaming client" installation on every endpoint. Been trying to find this for days now. I have spent hours on archive.org going through internetware.com, quarterdeck.com, qdeck.com, symantec.com when it was purchased etc. I've found some links for a Y2K upgrade iwc313.zip however it was on an ftp site so not archived, and the folder does not appear to be on the archive of ftp.symantec.com taken around 2015. Sitedirector.symantec.com is a Virus pop up It has HTTP instead of HTTPS so do not go on it if you see get guard.io A malware spyware trojan and hijacker remover sitedirector.symantec.com is a copy of the regular symantec.com BUT A VIRUS its might be some type of spyware or maybe you have compromised your pc.
