I don't know if I prefer python or JavaScript as a language. What I enjoy is that, in general, for me. I feel like I can do more stuff easily in JS. Looking around I see 1000s of cool things made in JS. three.js, babylon.js, Google Maps, Chrome Experiments. I make things and I can share them with just a link like Rockfall, Slime Sim. If he's into Spiderman then maybe he'd enjoy getting comic books? I'm sure there are some special editions etc. Maybe figurines or merch stuff? Could also be a reference to the latest Spiderman movie, you can use a poster or a still image from the movie and replace Spidermans' faces with your bf's (there are face swappers and online programs that do that) and then print it out.
