I’ve read about Chimera OS which seems to have the same goals as Steam OS https://chimeraos.org/. Source: 5 months ago
Noone said it but the direct answer to your question is chimeraos. It's barebones Steam Big Picture mode with an empty desktop that doesn't have a browser only to do some emergency terminal modifications. It's Linux but it's designed to not involve the Linux part of it. Source: 5 months ago
So I have a bit of experience with current gaming on Linux - I have a living-room box running ChimeraOS and my wife is currently happily playing Starfield on it - but I am now faced with the prospect of either buying a Windows key to keep my main/gaming rig chugging along on Windows 10, or just finally biting the bullet and moving my rig to Linux. As for my LGO, the only other app I've installed outside of the standard launcher was Playnite to consolidate all games into one place as Legion Space doesn't detect everything I have installed and I don't want to manage manually adding games to their launcher. Source: 5 months ago
Use playnite instead of the individual launchers. Source: 5 months ago
Here is where I come in and recommend everyone check out Playnite: https://playnite.link/ When I care about supporting a developer or publisher and they offer their product on their own storefront DRM-free, I will often go there to buy. Or I buy from GoG which takes a smaller cut. Playnite lets me launch my Steam and non-Steam games in a seamless fashion. Steam still does a great job as a game installer/patch... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
