It's because they can't read. I did this recently, but you can download CE from https://cheatengine.org, turn on airplane mode, and install it if you're that worried about the greyware. If you are on PC, you could use something like Cheat Engine to speed up the timer by increasing the game speed. Another thing you could do (if not on PC) is do missions quickly and wait at where story cutscenes trigger while you do something else potentially. Source: about 1 year ago

Not really possible (yet). Darling tries to do this, but so far it can mainly just run some command-line Darwin software (the open source part of Apple's OSes). Some simple GUI apps too, but you won't be running something like Xcode on Linux any time soon. Source: about 1 year ago
