I have two layers of filtering. Layer 1 is the "Subscription" layer like you mention. I also have a Layer 2 which is not all episodes of a Podcast are meaningful for me. Therefore, I don't listen to ALL episodes. A Podcast app like Castro is extremely beneficial in making an active decision to add a podcast to my queue [0]. Should you long term... NO... Can you short term to get the mic-ball rolling... yes!! Here is what I would offer up. Take the recording and either clean it up in audacity (if you know how) OR. go to https://podcast.adobe.com/ drop your vocal audio track(s) in there and they will clean it up for you for free. If it's dialogue (and you're unhappy with the result) you might try running it through Adobe Podcast Enhance (podcast.adobe.com) The AI can sometimes repair artifacts from denoising, while delivering a very clean-sounding VO.
