• Attemping to upgrade internal ssd by cloning internal ssd through 'restore' in DiskUtility. It's not letting me click the drop down in "restore from". Any help to move forward?

  I would forget about using the Disk Utility Restore function and download a 30 trial copy of Carbon Copy Cloner which can clone your internal SSD to the new external one. Just be advised you will need to use the Legacy option to make the clone since the default CCC cloning function now is “Data Only”. To select the legacy option Click on the Destination selector and choose "Legacy Bootable Copy Assistant". Source: 10 months ago

  My advice to retain your sanity: stop using Time Machine and use Carbon Copy Cloner [0] instead. It works. It keeps working. It has excellent documentation for any possible backup and restore cases. It is transparent about what it is doing. Time Machine works fine until it doesn't. • Do you backup your iPhone / iPad to iCloud or your computer?

  I can't find anything about iOS/iPhone backups on acronis.com and backblaze.com. I know the Windows/Mac tool iMazing. This uses the libraries of iTunes to do a local backup similar to the built-in backup of iTunes. It is also able to backup all files like music and photos that are accessible for apps by the system.
