  • Enlightenmentware
I really like the buku terminal bookmark manager. https://github.com/jarun/buku I like that I can just `man buku` when I don't understand something and I can actually find the answer I'm looking for. - Source: Hacker News / 3 days ago
  • Show HN: Free Plain-Text Bookmarking
Hey folks, another option that I've settled on (after messing with shaarli, shiori and a few others) is Buku. Usually I really like plain text instead of dbs, but the killer here for me, I realize, is that I'm not tied to any one method of input OR output. Mainly, I do adding through a bookmarklet, and retrieval through "bukuserver," a self-hosted web thing. But also, I have the option of the command line (for... - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • What "nice-to-have" CLI tools do you know?
Buku bookmark manager. Gets more useful as you age. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Is there a spiritual successor to del.icio.us?
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I stopped using many online cloud services because they get shut down or acquired by a big fish. Instead, I am using buku[1], a command-line utility to store, tag, search and organize bookmarks on a Linux desktop. But, it should work on any OS due to Python. All I have to do is backup a single ~/.local/share/buku/bookmarks.db SQLite file. [1] https://github.com/jarun/buku. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Help me ruminate.. on bookmark managers.
I personally use Buku: https://github.com/jarun/buku/ Works pretty well for me, specially with its web frontend (bukuserver). Source: about 2 years ago

  • Conversion from epub to kepub, and related Calibre use
I only read kepub files on my Kobo Clara 2E (kobo stock). I use KOReader to read PDF, CBZ (comic files) and epub. Source: 6 months ago
  • First E-reader. I am thinking of buying Kobo Libra 2?
You can easily modify it (like adding KOReader). Source: 6 months ago
  • Calibre – New in Calibre 7.0
It doesn't try to solve the same use cases that Calibre does, but I built an open source (EPUB only) manager / reader / statistics tracker called AnthoLume [0]. It mostly stemmed from me reading in KOReader [1] on my Kindle, and not having the ability to sync the progress to my iPhone / iPad. It's got metadata matching, support for multiple users, and statistics tracking which allows me to have a "Leaderboard"... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Show HN: News2reader – Readable articles from HN and Pocket on your e-reader
Hi! I recently became the owner of an e-reader, and wanted an easy way to get web articles from Hacker News and my bookmarks onto the device, on-demand, for easy reading. I'm using KOReader (https://koreader.rocks/) on my device, and like lots of e-book readers it allows browsing online catalogs of books (e.g. From sources like Project Gutenberg) using the OPDS protocol. News2reader is a self-hosted Node... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Is the pocketboom era the right choice for me ?
No I don't have any special lag. But I also don't use the default reading app, I use Koreader. I think the normal reading app also doesn't have much lag. Most modern eReaders have much less than 5s lag. Source: 11 months ago
