JSX, in my opinion, was the biggest innovation that came out of React given that you could write HTML directly in your JavaScript. I had used other frameworks such as MooTools in the past. You could use them to dynamically construct HTML in JavaScript, but with a very verbose and tedious syntax. It looked very similar to the converted code above.
