  I'm a chemical lab assistant and have worked in biochemistry/protein research for four years. I do good work, but I want to understand more background. One way could be to check out MIT Open Courseware and find a media studies course, look at the readings, and find some basic texts from an introductory course that could help me understand how the information is generated.
