  Others, try using Hotel.com and booking.com in advance, but they are not guaranteed rooms, and almost every year I see people trying to argue with the front desk that they have a reservation. Is there a difference between getting a reservation or getting a ticket when it comes to providing proof of onward travel (as opposed to providing travel and hotel info for a visa application)?
