  Nice article; skimming over it, it seems exhaustive and well-written. But nowadays, I'd generally recommend blackfire.io over XHProf. Yes, it's a (mostly) closed source SAAS platform, and the free tier only offers the most absolutely basic of tools, but by the time performance really starts to matter on your wordpress site, I don't think ~$30 a month is a dealbreaker. And also the weird thing that I saw is when you go take their survey so they can take your commission, they sent you to a weird ”typeform.com” link which apparently is a website that allowed them to have a web based platform they can use to create surveys without needing to...
