  • Dependency on Maintenance
The reliance on the continuous maintenance and updates from the Turnkey Linux project means that discontinuation or slow updates could impact security and functionality.
  • Resource Consumption
Some appliances might require more system resources than lighter weight, single-purpose tools, potentially making them less efficient on limited hardware.
  • Scope of Support
Support is primarily community-driven, which may be less reliable or responsive compared to commercial-grade support offerings, particularly for critical or urgent issues.

In fact, this idea makes so much sense that a company called Bitnami provides just that. They got bought by VMware though, so I don't think they want community contributions or to enable a marketplace around it. Source: about 4 years ago

Can I find an .ISO appliance with NPM somewhere? I'm used to just using .ISO appliances (like from turnkeylinux.org). And I've got PLENTY of other Nginx boxes from hestiaCP. Source: over 2 years ago
