  • Google's decision to deprecate JPEG-XL emphasizes the need for browser choice and free formats
There are already forks offering JPEG-XL support. Thorium (warning: sound is auto-played on page open, why is this a thing) is perhaps the most prominent example for Chromium. In Firefox rebuilds there's Waterfox Current and LibreWolf, and for the independently developed there's the browsers that build on top of the Unified XUL Platform (a hard fork of Mozilla) which are Pale Moon and Basilisk. • Google's decision to deprecate JPEG-XL emphasizes the need for browser choice and free formats
Don't use Chrome. Try something, anything, else. The Thorium browser is fantastic, fast, and does basically everything Chrome does. If you're a Firefox person, consider trying Mercury, Waterfox, Pale Moon, or Basilisk. There is a whole world of rich browser forks that are specialized & often work better than their mainstream alternatives. Here, you can see they listened to us when large organizations didn't. • Anyone else following this Texas abortion case?
If it's any consolation, it was top billing on cnn.com yesterday, which is where I first saw it. Entire top left of the screen was the woman's face and a huge headline. Now it's buried in a couple lines below the (digital) fold. Source: 6 months ago
  • Wifi with secondary security
Try and force the page by entering a url in the browser such as cnn.com . Also, try loading a full browser and trying to surf. What type of phone are you on? Source: 6 months ago
  • Does anyone know why CNN is suddenly blocked for me?
FWIW, I had to disable the Wipr content filtering on cnn.com to see the web site. Guess I'll get my news fix from wapo.com, now. Source: 6 months ago
  • cnn.com blocking browser because of uBlockOrigin with a message of "Browser Blocked" and to whitelist EasyList.
I don't know what EasyList or uBlock are (i.e., I don't use those), but I got blocked by cnn.com as well. Firefox on Mac. Turns out it was the "I don't care about cookies" extension (automatically accept consent requests). Once I disabled that for cnn, it worked again. Source: 6 months ago
