BackHub features and specs

  • Recurring GitHub repository backup: Create daily recurring backups of your public and private GitHub repositories. Don't worry about maintaining, executing or documenting your own backup script.
  • Sync backups to S3 option: Sync backups to your own cloud storage (currently Amazon S3) to keep an offsite copy of your data and for longterm backup retention.
  • Audit Log for enterprise compliance: The audit log is a centralized stream of all system and user activity within your BackHub installation. Easily monitor your backups and account activity with this feature.
  • Backup Issues, Milestones and more: Backups include not only the repository with all branches, but also all associated metadata, such as issues, milestones, pull requests, releases, wikis and more
  • Daily Backup Snapshots: BackHub creates daily snapshots of all your backups. You can easily restore a previous state of your repository or metadata up to 30 days back in time.
  • Clone from BackHub servers: You can clone any snapshot of your GitHub backup directly from BackHub. This means you can access your data anytime, even if GitHub is temporarily not available.
  • Restore Repositories: When you need to recover a repository, you can restore your repository including metadata, such as issues and milestones, directly back to GitHub via the GitHub API.
  • Download GitHub repository and Metadata: You can download the GitHub repository or metadata directly from BackHub without having to restore it back to GitHub.
  • Automatic Backup Creation: BackHub checks your GitHub account on a daily basis for new repositories and automatically creates backups.
  • Archive Repositories: Use BackHub as your repository archive, and at GitHub remove repositories on which you are no longer working.
  • Share Backups among your Team: BackHub supports GitHub organizations. When you create backups for your organization, all owners and admins can access and restore these backups too.

  • If you are not affected by the sight of corpses, please help us back up war footage being posted on twitter by frontline journalists. This is an important part of history that is at risk of being wiped from history in an instant.
Some threads on /r/DataHoarder here seem to recommend RipMe though, so that could help you out. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Data hoarders, keep a backup!
You can use RipMe to rip all media from this sub with the following command. Source: over 2 years ago
  • is there something that can download everything in a sub like videos and pics
There's a tool called ripme that has a graphical interface (if that's something you're into) and works for multiple sites. I use it to download entire subreddits pretty often, it's nice since it nests albums into folders. Source: over 2 years ago
  • java GUI application over webserver?
I use a java program called ripme to rip imgur and flickr albums to my home server. Sometimes I need to do it via mobile, up until recently I had a full windows VM running that I could RDP into and use it there but I've ditched that and now I'm looking for a Docker solution. As a backup I can stick it in a container and ssh in and use it via CLI, but if I can get the gui running that would be ideal. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • What's going on with u/SaveVideo, u/GetVideoBot and redditsave.com?
RipMe is my preferred tool. Also supports imgur, GFY, and other popular image/video hosting sites. Jdownloader 2 works as well, but may be overkill for this purpose. Source: almost 3 years ago
