  • Recommendations for a more nuanced Magyar-English dictionary?
Besides the dictionaries mentioned above, when it comes to online free editions I like https://bab.la/ - it gives you real examples and sentences as well, those can help a lot when it comes to translating. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How to create anki cards fast from translation sites ?
I have been using Anki for a few months now and it has been a valuable asset in my language learning journey. But creating anki cards takes me so long and I wonder if there is a faster way to do it ? I usually use translation sites like bab.la or google translate. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Hallo; apparently "schildpad" is a de-word not a het-word, but this dictionary says otherwise. Is there any reliable dictionary that is free, for pc, and beginner-friendly? Bedankt.
Whenever I have to translate words from Dutch to English or the other way around I always use bab.la. It also gives you context examples which is great for knowing which word to use when a word has multple translations. Source: over 1 year ago
  • bland? bland annat?
I am using google translate or bab.la and google translate says bland means among, bland annat means including. But when I translate the sentence it says "among other things, they will have to work longer every day and receive a lower salary". Source: almost 2 years ago

Single cell amoebas do that. Trees can even be said to do that. And certainly computers do that. Even the problem Sam Harris is stating above is in the form of an if-then statement, the fundamental conditional statement upon which... Source: 5 months ago

  • Hanging vines
My wife set up a bunch of her mature vines hanging down from our entrance staircase (both sides). On the left is about a five year old String of Hearts, then Monstera (only a couple of years old), then Pothos (about five years old). The String of Hearts is about 10 feet long, but seems to still get nutrients and moisture to the end. The pothoses (strangely, that is what dictionary.com says is the plural of... • what's the meaning of imminent
This word is very interesting. I came across it in a comic. Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary's definition seems like a synonym of immediate, but dictionary.com's definition seems more suitable for the comic. Source: 8 months ago
