To upload the website in the public directory to S3, the easy way is to go with the AWS CLI. After installing and configuring the CLI, use following command to upload the website to S3. Not sure if this is applicable, but if you're using Word or Scrivener or something, you may want to switch to a plaintext editor like Dark Room or Typora--something that won't underline your spelling and grammar mistakes.
