Avvo Review 2020: Pros, Cons, and Best Alternatives
Avvo allows former clients to review their attorneys and also has its own “Avvo rating” for lawyers based on information in their profiles about work experience and qualifications. However, there has been some controversy around the validity of these reviews and ratings.[2] Sometimes, for example, inexperienced lawyers receive higher Avvo ratings than more experienced ones,...

  • Should my wife put half her house in my name as evidence of a bona fide marriage?
This is a case where you might want a lawyer to look it over, actually. If you do go this route, make sure it's a good one. A good lawyer is a lifesaver, a shitty one can set you way back. I found avvo.com to be a great resource to vet them, but I'm sure it's not the only one like it. Source: 5 months ago
  • He's threatening me with "legal action" because of this subreddit. What do I do
I always consult an attorney in any situation that remotely warrants it. I go on a referral site like avvo.com (think that's it) and buy a cheap, quick consult (like 20 or 30 bucks). I pick the attorney's brain, get all my concerns out. In your case, I would try to find out what I could say to threaten him back, I mean a legal threat of course, or else I'd try to find out specific legal language that I could use... • Lawyer up, people!
We found ours on avvo.com, there's a ton of reviews on there and some attys are absolutely slaughtered in the reviews so you have a pretty good indication the site is legitimate, lol. It's a referral and review site for attorneys in all areas of practice, not just immigration. Source: 5 months ago
  • Best dv assault lawyer Seattle
Get on avvo.com and look for either a criminal defense attorney if you've been charged criminally. and stop talking about your case until you talk to your atty. Source: 5 months ago
  • Just outed the affair, I need a good lawyer in the Boston south shore area
No advice for an actual lawyer in that area but go on avvo.com and search for a highly rated family law attorney. This worked wonders for me!! Good luck OP! Source: 10 months ago

  • What traps should I be on the lookout for in a rental contract?
Anyway, that's the plan. Feel free to throw out any insane contract bs I should be looking out for, contract insanity I could use, or any online tools I can use to actually make the contracts. I found a tool on lawdepot.com, but it was asking for a credit card with a free trial so I'd rather give that one a miss if I can. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Free NDA for Canadians?
I also use https://lawdepot.com/ as well and have been told by a lawyer friend of mine that they cover most scenarios well/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Free NDA for Canadians?
Well this would be a free trial thing, but I use lawdepot.com. I occasionally need NDA's and employment contracts but know nothing about them, so I like just answer the questionnaire on the site and having it spit out the document I need :) I'd highly recommend accepting the need to cancel it or paying for a month considering the headache it saves. • Family Law Attorney
Alternatively, you can do most of the work on your own. If you sign up for a lawdepot.com account (around $80.00 for the year) it will walk you through step by step and you can fill out the information, do your own research and then have 2 lawyers check it over. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Alternatives for people looking for high interest rates now that Voyager is dead.
Series I Savings Bonds: I'm guessing most people know by now that the US govt is offering Series I bonds at a record rate of 9.62%, but I'll put some info about that here anyway. See more info here. Things to keep in mind: The advertised rate is only good for 6 months after your purchase, so you only effectively get half the rate. Also, you CANNOT withdraw your money for a year. The other catch is you can only buy... Source: over 1 year ago
