I've used PowerDesk from version 6 to version 9, in Windows XP to Vista to 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. With each platform migration, it was harder and harder to install PD. I finally bought a new package to go along with my Windows 11 Professional desktop. Unfortunately, the software not only doesn't work, but the technical support people are not native English speakers. Between extraordinarily thick Indian, Eastern European, and allegedly French Canadian accents, I LITERALLY had to bring in a translator. At the end of it all, they couldn't install PD, because it's not coded for Windows 11.
AND, based on their almost fanatical insistence on my "trying technical support" (three times) and refusal to graciously offer to refund my purchase price, I'm having to escalate this into a Collection Event with my bank getting involved.
Thus, Avanquest has lost me as a customer, despite their once unquestionably-superior program. Their product's (former) greatness has been drastically exceeded by their p**s-poor customer service.

OneCommander is probably the best File Explorer alternative I've come across so far, I haven't done a deep dive on all the possible features, but it's in active development, and pretty in-depth already, so I think it might be worth taking a look at. Source: about 2 years ago
One Commander as my default explorer, and use that miller column navigation,. Source: over 2 years ago
Now testing One Commander V3, which alleviates all the issues, plus now I am a fan of miller column and its navigation. Now I can see why Mac users like it. So far so good. Source: over 2 years ago
