I live in Italy and I'm really looking to buy a brand new Corvette C8. On the italian corvette site and on the biggest automobile selling site (autoscout24.com) all go for over 100k. Even the basic 1LT version. In the US though, the coupe version starts from around 60k and all the possible optionals are a lot cheaper. California State gas/diesel taxes are high - I think around $1.55/gallon. California has the most highways in the country. They need a lot of maintenance. The drought that we just came out of last winter cracked a lot of blacktop. In addition EV's and hybrids (which are huge in CA) use little or no gas so the revenue of the old 30MPG market is shrinking. Thus the "use tax". That said Texas is always cheaper due...
