The article matches my experience with SwiftUI [1][2]. For example, AFAICT, it's not really possible to write a usable node-graph editor using SwiftUI due to layout and dependency analysis overhead. You have to put the entire node graph inside a Canvas and do your own event handling, which is what we did here [3].
