I make $2,000 per month after tax, healthcare and 401K. I pay car insurance, private student loans (and federal will come due soon), phone bill, gas and a gym membership, totaling $1,140 / month. This leaves me with $860. The usual standard is 30% of my income ($800 max) which, according to apartmentlist.com for a 1/1, does not exist in my state. Looking at Zillow, I can confirm this. For reference, I will be working close to the Cedar Hurst area. I found a couple of places like Hello apartments and Deco 265 apartments on apartmentlist.com but wasn't sure about anything yet.
