Take it easy. You’ve got plenty of time. I’d ditch adobe animate, although it has its benefits, and check out something like https://animationpaper.com/ and pick up Richard Williams animation survival kit and you’ll be set for a while. Hello fellow animation enthusiast. I'm curious about why you are writing a new program rather than working with the existing open source codebases of OpenToonz/Morevna/Pencil2D? (They are C++/Qt for whatever that's worth). Not to mention what Blender has accomplished with the development of the Grease Pencil module. Zbrush is the gold standard and it's not cheap. It has recently switched to subscription only. Zbrush also offers a stripped down free version for beginners and dabblers called Zbrush Core Mini.
