I use Ahrefs for gathering information about competitors' backlinks and general info on competitors, their DR, UR, traffic. I use it for several months. The information I gather with ahrefs helps me to understand general competitors' linkbuilding strategies. I'd like to have more for this money, site audit for example.

So far I used dataforseo.com to get the data I need (they have a large database with 4.8 billion keywords), and I could create some cool tools with it! It recommends similar terms, too. SEMRush has a free version where you get ~10 queries per day, so you can explore search volume for terms like "test automation software" and drill down from there.
