I have this issue all the time, trying to articulate a design style. A couple of my go-to resources for style references are design trend blogs/articles or stock asset websites. Adobe Stock does a Creative Trends report every year that can be helpful for defining hybrid styles, and 99Designs does a similar Graphic Design Trends blog post. Thanks for the HN treatment. As a followup piece, a Google response of this being "a bug". Followup story, my return rate for CC licensed images of "dog" went from 3 to 13. Last time I've checked, Creative Commons had their own search for things under their licenses.
