Weather Underground might be a bit more popular than AccuWeather. We know about 49 links to it since March 2021 and only 39 links to AccuWeather. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Greater Cleveland usually is excellent at removing snow and treating roads, and snow storms are much less frequent, with thaws very rapid these days. Again, check accuweather.com for daily temperatures in 2023 for those days you plan on being in Cleveland. Source: 5 months ago
Check accuweather.com for January and February of 2023. Weatherspark.com also offers monthly and even daily climate histories. Source: 5 months ago
Here's a useful thread for preparing for northern Ohio winters. Top suggestions IMO: drive more slowly and allow more time for travel in those now limited days with snowy, icy conditions, going is easy, stopping is hard; watch out for black ice when walking or driving; get thinsulate gloves, shoes/boots with good winter traction, knit caps, a couple zip-up hoodies for easy layering; good all season tires (check... Shouldn't all YSU students be taught why 5 percent of Canadian forests were destroyed by wildfires in 2023, an area much greater than the land area of the state of NY, and about the resulting health impacts of flooding northern Ohio with high levels of fine particle pollution? How many Youngstown residents know that fine particle pollution in northern Ohio far exceeds the EPA's annual limits? (You can check... Source: 5 months ago
I would visit Edgewater Park, Wendy Park and the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve to experience Lake Erie in winter. Be prepared to dress warmly in layers, but you also might find surprisingly good weather. Check out accuweather.com for Cleveland temperatures in January 2023. The accuweather.com forecast a week out should be relatively reliable, so pay attention to cancellation fees in the unlikely... Source: 5 months ago
This is driving me nuts and not sure how to deal with it. As noted using Adguard for Safari and Firefox and selected the same options/filter lists and getting different filter results. This is on the "wundermap" on wunderground.com. For example this page: https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=40.731&lon=-73.987&zoom=8&radar=1&wxstn=0. Source: 8 months ago
Use wunderground.com. It's like 21% at the highest (but showing 5% in Goleta). There isn't an actual NWS forecasting out this way, so they are extrapolating. Not to mention that means 5-20% of the area will see precipitation, which could include areas in that you don't care about (eg. Up in the mountains). Source: 12 months ago
Why does the Storm Prediction Center have us in a marginal risk for tomorrow (Sat.?) The hourly forecast on weather.com and wunderground.com only show possible thunderstorms at 5 a.m. Sat. Morning but the text says "A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible" Sat. night. When is the time frame for the marginal risk the Storm Prediction Center is talking about? Trying to plan my Saturday, thanks. Source: about 1 year ago
A good old fashioned barometer is your time tested best bet. When it's in the gutter, tie your mother down... Otherwise, I suggest wunderground.com. Type in your zip code, then select 10 day forecast. You can drag the slider hour by hour. And it's usually pretty darn accurate. Source: about 1 year ago
Oooh, that's a great idea to visit this March so you can get a feel for it! I also should have mentioned that wunderground.com is the only place I've found that has the historical weather data. :/. Source: about 1 year ago
