  • Insurance that will cover Mounjaro?
‘If Medicare, check cms.gov for specific plans that fit your eligibility. Source: 12 months ago
  • “But I don’t want the gubberment to help me in any way!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Our country is also able to keep people people alive after major medical episodes, trauma, or chronic illness which then require expensive follow up care. Per capita spending on healthcare is around $8k per year (per cms.gov) However, health care spending for people 65 and older is closer to $19k per capita and their health care costs total 33.6% of all health care spending despite only being 15% of the population. • How can I legally purchase commercial health insurance policy if I am eligible for Medicare
It's a straightforward payment decision, that look at the CPT procedure codes billed and verify the diagnosis codes from cms.gov map are found in the doctor's diagnosis codes. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Health Care Provider Took 6 Months to Provide Correct Bill - Sent Account to Collections Before Due Date
I plan to pay the collection agency, dispute with the credit agencies, and file complaints against the health care provider with cms.gov as well as my insurance provider (for not respecting the contracted price). Source: over 1 year ago
  • Against Us: Obstructionist Insurance Companies
This is, yet another, failure of government to understand f all of how things work. There are people in cms.gov and elsewhere, (including FDA), that know the system. Whomever helped craft this policy must have bypassed them or ignored them. The way to do this would have been the same as with vax or other things... Just guarantee the order levels direct to manufactures - for anything FDA approved and do so at a... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Want to start a career in Data Analytics/science
I would start by finding data - cms.gov, data.gov, github, nba.com, fivethirtyeight.com, etc. You might need to make some adjustments in Excel, but for the most part making adjustments in SQL is far easier. I like using google sheets because you can use importhtml (and other functions). Many sites allow you to download to excel and then import into MSSQL. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Data set for a project
Hi there, I am in healthcare analytics so most of my recommendations will be healthcare related. Here are a few suggestions - COVID19 data, cms.gov, data.gov, World Bank, and FiveThrityEight. Here is a github with plenty of examples: https://github.com/awesomedata/awesome-public-datasets. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Indoor mask mandate in Philadelphia begins at midnight
All Medicare payment rules are publicly available on cms.gov. There is a 20% increase on IP payments related to COVID (dx U07.1).  Length of stay has a minimal impact on DRG payment methodology. In general, the shorter the stay, the better. Payment amount is basically a case rate based on the severity of the case. The CMS pricer can be downloaded if you want to see for yourself. • Medicare just sent my mom a bill, but she's not receiving checks yet?
Social Security will not (in most cases) reactively terminate part B. She will still owe for the months that have already passed even if she requests to decline coverage. Since her coverage has already started (even retroactively), she’ll need to submit her request to end coverage in writing. Have her complete CMS-1763 (found at http://cms.gov) and check off only the box for medical insurance. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Certificate of Accreditation Requirement for Entry to Hong Kong
Due to a family member not doing well , I will be traveling from US to Hong Kong in October. However, the requirement for the documentation is really stressing me out. In addition to a PCR testing result within 72 hours of your flight's departure, you will also need a prove of Certificate of Accreditation. I see that you can download it from the cms.gov, but I'm very confused and not sure what I'm looking at. Is... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Response to Megan: Trust the science, not the politics.
As seen in the graph above, the number of cases has unquestionably gone up but the number of deaths has stayed flat despite the delta variant being the most prevalent strain currently in circulation. It is also worth noting that the Department of Health and Human Services states that 50 to 129 million (19 to 50 percent of) non-elderly Americans have some type of pre-existing health condition (source: cms.gov ).... • Question about Cobra...
Every citation I can find, including dol.gov and cms.gov, says the enrollment period has to be "at least 60 days" implying it CAN be longer. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • 82 y/o Mom, stage 4 glioblastoma
Know your next steps in advance, if possible. Does your mom want to continue to live at home? If yes, you may need to hire in assistance depending on how she does after surgery, or some time in the future if there wasn't complete resection of the glioblastoma (read up on that, it's unlikely they can/will get it all). You may want to get a list of in home care providers and have at the ready, there are resources... Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Why are people pushing a vaccine that isn’t FDA approved?
Do not get the vax. As far as deaths related to the vax, you can go to the CDC vaers website. Don't for there was a reason why they paused the J&J vax. Doctors are being compensated to push it; you go to cms.gov to see if your doctor is as well. COVID has a 99.98% survival rate; it's not as deadly as the mainstream media is making it. Again, go to the CDC website, and you'll see influenza and pneumonia are still... Source: almost 3 years ago
  • wHo’s GoNnA pAy FoR iT?
Cms.gov and the taxpolicy research center. Source: almost 3 years ago

Medicare Learning Network on cms.gov They have a list of organizations that accept their CEUs. Just click on the AAPC link. Source: almost 3 years ago
