  • Any tips for making a melody?
I use an online tool called chordchord.com - I get to play as much as I like, experimenting with chord progressions. When I hear something I like, I write down the chords and notes and then key these into my composing software or directly into FL Studio. This tool has made my life easier with creating songs. • How do I learn to make good music for a game?
Start off with something (say a progresion from https://chordchord.com/), or even easier, use FL's riff generator and keep pressing random until you have something that sounds like your game (in terms of tempo and energy), then tweak things a little, export it, put it in the game, and try it for a while. • Any chord progression apps/programs similar to "ChordChord" you can recommend?
ChordChord does all of this, but the problem is that (unless I'm missing some hard-to-find option) you're limited to a chord progression of just 4 chords. Which also translates to a chord progression that is only 4 measure long, usually. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Whats a fun hobby that anyone can pick up to past time?
You don't need to know that much about music theory to start just learn like what chords are. You can use chordchord.com to generate chord progressions for you and just hum and sing over the progressions until u are happy. I have a ton of songs on my recorder app on my phone. There's also a site called chordchord.com that can be used and can have fun with it, but like hooktheory.com you have to subscribe if you want to download the midis. Source: over 2 years ago

  • An Alto Clarinet solo I plan to try and put into a piece, critiques and comments please!
-If I was aiming for some sort of repeated melody like this I would be exploring how to give it context with chordal accompaniment. (Full disclosure, I'm a jazz guy) Initially I'm thinking about using some sort of turn around leading to a D minor 7 where the fermata is. Use this tool. My very quick thoughts are Gm Am Em Dm7. Listen to how that provides tension, but also allows for it to resolve into bar 7 into... Source: almost 3 years ago
