As a fellow anime collector, I'd seriously recommend not buying any anime from eBay and sticking to proxies - try Zenmarket or Buyee. Never buy anime discs from US or Japanese sellers on eBay. They will make massive mark-ups and are basically bold-faced ripping you off. Ebay for anime discs is a mugs game. Source: about 1 year ago
In terms of how to buy stuff off of Mercari Japan, Zenmarket will work, although because I don't like keeping a balance, I use https://buyee.jp/. Source: about 1 year ago
I will definitely check out buyee.jp and neokyo.com. Source: about 1 year ago
Yahoo Shopping[1] and Auctions[2] are popular in Japan. I've used the latter via Buyee[3] to import a few items into the US from Japan. [1] https://shopping.yahoo.co.jp/ [2] https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/ [3] https://buyee.jp. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
This is for fromjapan not buyee.jp but I didnt know which subreddit to use. There's an item I want for auction, if I bid on it and win will I be able to check how much shipping costs before I buy? The total price including taxes and whatnot. Source: over 1 year ago
Buyee - https://buyee.jp/ (though they don't like VPN access). - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
I recommend checking out a Japanese auction proxy, I use https://buyee.jp, and searching for the model you want on Yahoo Japan Auctions and Mercari. Source: over 1 year ago
The best place would be a Japanese proxy, check out buyee.jp - that's the one I happen to use, but if you're already using one, go with it. Source: over 1 year ago
Or go to https://buyee.jp/ and just have a bottle shipped to your house. Source: over 1 year ago
You can drop Buyee a line and see if they can do a pre-order on your behalf. Source: over 1 year ago
Also, Buyee.jp and their link to the Mercari shop is a tremendous resource. Weirdly, going to the Mercari shop directly yields much worse results. Source: over 1 year ago

You can try your luck with https://buyee.jp/ . I find it often to be cheaper than buying from there than ebay. Source: over 1 year ago
I use buyee.jp, neokyo.com. fromjapan.co.jp/ as 3rd party services to buy from digimart.net, yahoo auctions japan, mercari.jp and paypayfleamarket.yahoo.co.jp. Source: over 1 year ago

You can search them on Japanese Yahoo Auctions using a proxy service, like buyee.jp (I haven't tried this one, it's just the first result in Google). Source: almost 2 years ago
Secondarily: If this is for something in Japan, there's a very high chance that it's relisted, at a very high markup, from something on Yahoo Japan or Mercari. I recommend going to buyee.jp and then searching for the thing on both Yahoo Japan Auctions and Mercari. You'll pay more for shipping, and there'll be a platform fee for using Buyee (or your preferred proxy if you already have another), but you'll save a... Source: almost 2 years ago
Everything was through Buyee -- I didn't have to deal directly with Yahoo!JAPAN Auction. The default "tab" on buyee.jp is for Yahoo!JAPAN Auctions. I just typed into the search bar (in English, even, as some kind of automatic google translate thing was in place), and items for auction came up. Source: almost 2 years ago
