  • Scouter Application stuck in "Pending Action by BSA" for a month
I applied to be a merit badge counsellor and as such submitted the adult scouter application with the proper type (42) through scouting.org a month ago and it's status still says "Pending Action by BSA". I've reached out to the council contact for Merit Badge Counsellors and all he could tell me was "Looks like it's still pending action by BSA" and said he didn't have any way to check where it was hung up. • Where to find "Ceremonies for Dens and Packs" and/or replacement
I'm doing the Advancement online training and it suggests using the book "Ceremonies for Dens and Packs." The link in the training doesn't work and I can't seem to find it on scouting.org or scoutshop.org. Was this book replaced or is there another good resource for ceremonies? Source: about 1 year ago
  • anyone have the link to the update on uniforms that came out? Looking for new role on shirt being untuckeds source.
But no, I don't know which document this is extracted from. A search for 'untucked' returned no results on scouting.org. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Eagle Workbook Editing Issues (again)
Make sure you download the official version from scouting.org - there are many sites which have old or outdated versions (include some councils)! Source: over 1 year ago
  • Eagle scout project proposal
Always the get current official version from scouting.org. Many councils have old versions, etc. On their websites. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What do you think of the decision to allow girls in?
Please explain to me which point of the Scout Law I violated. This is from the scouting.org website. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Why can't I post in scouting help forum?
I (parent) have a scouting.org account, marking me as a parent, but when I click Login to the help forum ( Scouting Forums ) I get the following message. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How to get person's sign-in/attendance to show as a map pin
Build website that users log into on their phone, something like https://scouting.org/. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • How do I print my Training Certificates from training.scouting.org?
Google is always a better way to find things on scouting.org than going to the website and looking. If you're not already familiar, you can plug in a search like this into the google.com search box and it will limit results to only come from the website you specify: Merit badges site:scouting.org. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Bouncing between pack and troops - Any reason not to just wear my Cubmaster uniform for it all?
Thank you for this, is there a link to BSA Insignia Guide you referenced? The only one I'm finding on scouting.org only goes to like page 49 and doesn't have the reference you mentioned. Source: about 2 years ago
  • can someone help me with scout book?
There is pretty good support for these sorts of things in the scouting.org forums. Source: about 2 years ago
  • What's your experience with scouting? Recommendations for groups in New England?
Go to scouting.org and lookup the nearest Pack. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Whittling Chip Patch?
According to scouting.org, the Whittling Chip patch is a "temporary patch" to be worn on the right pocket. Why do they make a pocket-flap shaped patch for whittling chip if you aren't allowed to wear it on your pocket flap? I am very confused by this. Who makes patch decisions? Is there a uniform decision committee on the national level or something? Source: over 2 years ago
  • Den Chief Service Award
From scouting.org - How to Get the Award Complete Service Award progress record in the back of the Den Chief Handbook; have Cubmaster and den leader sign off completion of requirements, and give form to the unit leader who will order the award and set a presentation date. Source: over 2 years ago
  • 2021 Guide To Advancement
The 2021 edition of the Guide was posted today on scouting.org. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Adult here: I was never in scouts but would like to learn a lot of the same things you guys do (maybe volunteer some day). Is there any resources that tell me what a scout would learn from beginning to end?
Take Wood Badge, anyone can, you don't have to be a scout leader. But I would suggest volunteering with a local pack or troop if you'd like, they can always use the help. To be honest some may find it weird if you don't have kids or a job where you work with kids (like a teacher), but we've had volunteers with no kids help before. Also visit any scout shop and get some of the merit badge books... They have... Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Age requirements for ranks?
First, the official scouting.org website is the more trustworthy source. To make my point, the published Troop Committee Challenge document you shared is official, but also outdated. It references the Tour and Activity Plan multiple times which was eliminated several years ago, even before the publishing date of 2018. It is a perfect example of why the BSA always reminds people to use the online version of the... Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Looking for something on Scouting.org? Use the site map...
Well, as of the end of my employment at the BSA national service center on July 31, 2020, there were a few internal teams. One developed/managed the various corporate websites for BSA such as scouting.org, scoutnewsroom.org, etc. Another team managed Scoutbook with heavy volunteer support. A separate team managed my.scouting.org. The national Exploring team's project manager is responsible for exploring.org and... Source: about 3 years ago
  • Extended Deadline NST Applications 4-7-21.pdf
Where does this come from, it looks fake. When I look at scouting.org I don't see anything like this. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Anyone else having problems with training.scouting.org ?
Yeah, it's broken for me too. And I found a couple posts on the scouting.org forums of people asking the same. Source: about 3 years ago
  • For the first time, girls were eligible to be Eagle Scouts -- and nearly 1,000 earned the elite rank
In general, it is a way to get kids into the outdoors and to learn the life skills that public schools don't teach. Social skills and civic engagement are as important in the scouting curriculum as outdoor activities that amount to low-level wilderness survival. More information on the US scouting.org is the place to visit. Source: about 3 years ago
