How the Bill.com Intelligent Business Payments Platform Works

Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Bill.com and what they use it for.
  • Freelancers: Do you allow your clients to pay via card? Processing fees hurt
I mean.... This is how it is everywhere... You could use bill.com but it still has a monthly fee, however if youre sending multiple invoices like so, the monthly fee is paid for in just 2 clients of yours... Honestly a $66 processing fee for $2K isn't bad... Venmo/Paypal gifted is fee-less but not recommended... Source: 5 months ago
  • Bank rejected £850 payment from bill.com - both companies saying they can't do anything
Bill.com have just gotten back to me saying they haven't received the money back (which nationwide said would have only taken 5 days from the 23rd November) and that SWIFT have told them that they did infact have my full name on the transaction and not my initials or anything else (unlike what nationwide told me). • Best campaign platforms for launching an influencer marketing agency?
What platforms do you use to collect payment from our clients? I was thinking of using bill.com or stripe for now until I find a new method and then pay out the influencers. Source: 7 months ago
  • What do you use for online credit card processing?
We use bill.com for both our AP and AR. All online, customer can pay with a link, generates all our monthly invoices automatically, easy to generate and send hardware and project invoices on demand, can be used to pay your vendors as well, syncs with Quickbooks, customers can be set up for auto-pay via credit card (charge to us is 2.9%), you can charge a convenience fee if you want. Customers can also pay via ACH... Source: 9 months ago
  • 6 Figures International Wire Transfer To BPI Concern
My employer uses bill.com to process salaries so its thru SWIFT Wire Transfer. Source: 10 months ago
  • International Transfer To Maya Bank Savings
Thats not the point, I am asking to see if anybody has tried to receive international transfers using swift to maya bank, since my employer only uses bill.com to send out salaries. Source: 10 months ago
  • Working remotely for USA based company
You enter into a contract with the US-company, to be a contractor. That'll set out the terms of the contract (number of hours, hourly/daily/weekly/monthly rate etc). Each month, send them an invoice, they then pay you - either in USD to an Australian account, or they can use a company like bill.com to pay you in AUD. Source: 12 months ago
  • ChatGPT failed the CPA exam
100%. I'm very excited about the prospect of more AI coming to accounting because the fact that bill.com or QBO or any other ERP system can even get most of the way there on an uploaded document is f***ing sweet, and the better it gets, the happier I'll be. I'm also more than happy to give AI systems more of my work if it gets better. Source: 12 months ago
  • Getting paid via bank remittance. What's the best bank in terms of remittance charges, and exchange rate?
I am getting paid via bill.com. I am made aware that receiver shoulders the fees and charges. Source: 12 months ago
  • QBO - Looking for payment app suggestions
We use bill.com (vs Melio) primarily because it has the capability to do wire transfers at a much lesser cost than going to the bank. While there are some minor fees for ACH and Check payments, we have found the savings from the wire transfer capability to outweigh the others. Source: 12 months ago
  • What is BILL (formally bills.com)
Your thinking is accurate they should definitely get Quickbooks for their accounting. If they want to have a payment solution like bill.com they can keep that or try Rillion as it has good user ratings in Capterra etc. For ease of use. (Rillion is called accounts payable automation software, like Bill.com). Source: almost 1 year ago
  • How do I record these 1 cent deposits from Bill.com in QB?
I received two $0.01 deposits from bill.com ... I've been waiting for a month for these to get reversed but nothing has changed. How do I categorize these? The customer already paid the actual invoice in full, and seems like these are test deposits. Source: 12 months ago
  • Having a bad experience with Fast Four (Zone & Co) on AP Automation
We didn't evaluate bill.com. Did you have a bad experience with bill.com or with FF, just to clarify? We did look into the NetSuite AP automation but it's way to simple for our needs, it doesn't do well with our setup. We did an evaluation with the NetSuite team and we both agreed it wouldn't work. • The US-based company that I work with is looking for a Wise alternative to pay their freelancers.
Most of my clients have their own ACH system, but some smaller ones use bill.com. It works fine for me. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What are you using for your billing system?
Bill.com ACH fee is $.49/transaction and is automatic. I'm currently paying $0 for ACH through my bank's rebranded version of bill.com but I hit their cap as mentioned. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What are you using for your billing system?
I'm currently using a bill.com rebrand through my bank, but I hit their limits on ACH and apparently it's a big problem for them. I also don't want to be tied to the bank anymore, so I need to switch. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What's one software your small business couldn't live without?
To process this payment, the QB user, regardless of if they want to have an account with bill.com, has to make an account and log in to see how the payments were applied on the check that was received. Total pain in the ass. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What's one software your small business couldn't live without?
My only experience is that getting paid by someone who uses bill.com is a huge pain in the ass- you have to log in to bill.com to see the payment advice for checks issued from that platform. I hate it. I don't know if there's a (non-paid account) way to make the payments integrate or something, but we are about to make a policy saying we don't accept bill.com payments for that reason. Could you explain if there is... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Netsuite & Bill.com Information Sync
Let the fields that bill.com wants to overwrite be defined as the AR contact coming from bill.com then you use different fields for your PO contact (or use Relationships > Contacts and add a Contact record, either to the Customer record, or the SO, or both). Source: about 1 year ago
  • Anybody here affected by the Silicon Valley bank collapse and want to share?
I was supposed to get a payment on Friday through bill.com (this has never been wrong before) but I never saw the payment get posted. I'm pretty sure either my client or bill.com must be using SVB. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Anyone else's law firm panicking about the SVB news?
We use bill.com and have gotten checks from both SVB and chase, any idea if this affects the ACH payments though We do all of our invoicing and receivables through bill.com as well. Source: about 1 year ago

The Top Alternatives to Bill.com
Bill.com is suitable for slower-growth small businesses with low payment volumes and limited remittances capabilities. The average revenue per customer of Bill.com is $1,500. Therefore, many AP automation capabilities are not available via Bill.com, so you need to manage them manually or outside of Bill.com.
4 Best Bill.com Competitors And Alternatives (2022)
Plastiq is a simplified and more affordable option compared to Bill.com. They offer a solution for accounts payable and receivable without a sign-up fee, subscription fee, or fees for most transactions. They do, however, charge a 2.85% fee for both credit and debit transactions. This is a key distinction to keep in mind when comparing Plastiq to not only Bill.com, but to other competitors as well.
Best Accounts Payable Software for 2022
Why we like it: Bill.com offers multiple pricing options, including plans starting at $39 a month, which may make it more accessible for many small-business owners. You’ll get a centralized inbox for receiving invoices. The software can read invoices, capture the data on them and even flag if something looks off. However, you’ll need to upgrade from the lowest-priced plan to integrate with QuickBooks, Xero or...
