According to AV websites (av-test.org and av-comparatives.org), both show Norton as being one of the top recommended antivirus software suites you can purchase right now. I can understand if you don't like Norton for its past, knowing Norton used to bog down system resources and sometimes made the computer run slower, but this was years ago like 2010 the last time I can remember Norton slowing down my PC lol... I don't understand why you're getting downvoted for this. Sites like av-test.org and av-comparatives.org are managed by independent research organizations. They use objective testing criteria to evaluate commercial products, which is a far more reliable way of getting useful information than, "well, my experience is..." or "I read this one thing about x product..." In general, you are going to get better protection out of a paid option, but free is always better than nothing. Read up on reviews and features, and maybe check out av-comparatives.org and av-test.org for comparisons on detection rates and performance. Please don't listen to EP he for some reason thinks all the testing labs like av-test.org and av-comparatives.org are fake even though there overseen by governments, webroot it terrible even WD is better, I would recommend Avast free or KSC free but because KSC isn't on mac (I think) go for Avast.
