  • Help with Kanban-like boards
Long answer: this topic has been covered here many times, that Notion is just not a very advanced relational database. You canโ€™t relate items from different databases unless you manually select a โ€œrelationโ€ to another database (which requires the user to have permissions for that related database). There is not permissions trimming like there is in something like SharePoint, for example. I know they partnered... Source: over 3 years ago

Sounds like it will come super handy for you! I'm not sure how I will use it for my time management with Toggl. Still, looks amazing. I think this is automate.io in action. Source: over 3 years ago

  • IFTTT and Notion
Hey there! I am looking to automate some stuff with Notion and IFTTT (prev. Done with automate.io - which retired as of 31.10.). As I saw in the documentation there are only a few properties taken from Notion. And there is still a lot missing (e.g. Database properties for new pages in a database). Did anybody find a workaround for creating Google Calendar Events with Notion and IFTTT? Is there a roadmap for the... Source: over 3 years ago
  • Any good rutines to export a database as CSV?
You can with make.com (are looking into zapier and automate.io could aswell). The Make setup is just a little... Either hard to understand for me og a little flakey on getting the data. I'm really looking to get an automated one click solution. Otherwise I thinks it's easier to just do it manually. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Step by step process software you can overlay on any program
If you could use the software to automate/create flows for any program that would be phenomenal. Maybe there's a workaround with Zapier or automate.io? If so what would be the best 'input' program to enter data I want to change, I was thinking google forms but it's not made to purpose. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Is it possible to display the sum of the checked items in another database?
Unfortunately that gets into automations which Notion hasn't yet rolled out (hopefully any day now with automate.io). To autoset relations I usually set a filter so when I make new line items it auto populates if that helps. Source: over 3 years ago
  • 2-sync gcal-Notion
Thanks for the advice! I wanted to use n8n because you don't have to pay a monthly subscription and, if I get better at it, I pretty much understand how to create complex workflows! • How to replace automate.io tasks involving gmail and gcal?
Now automate.io is sunsetting. They've been telling me this for months but I have procrastinated. They are offering a free year with Zapier but that's a bit expensive for me once the year is up; I'd prefer to set up something that has a chance of lasting longer. Source: almost 4 years ago

  • Is there any word about a Cron iOS app or at least Cron integration into the Notion app?
Not yet, but the automate.io acquisition did lead to the features like database sync with GitHub and Jira so it's very likely we'll see something similar happen with Cron :). Source: almost 4 years ago

Summary of the public mentions of Automate.io

Automate.io has garnered a range of opinions in the public domain, often highlighted for its capability to empower users with automation tools typically requiring no coding expertise. In the competitive landscape of automation and integration platforms, Automate.io positions itself as a strong contender, particularly against established giants like Zapier and innovative alternatives such as n8n.io, Make.com, and Microsoft Power Automate.

One of the standout features commonly attributed to Automate.io is its affordability compared to its competitors. Specifically, at a price of $39 per month, Automate.io offers 10,000 tasks, a stark contrast to Zapierโ€™s offering of 2,000 tasks at $49 per month. This cost-effectiveness makes it an appealing option for small to medium-sized businesses seeking to maximize their automation capabilities without straining their budgets. Additionally, the platform's user-friendly interface, characterized by a drag-and-drop feature, is highly appreciated among users, enabling them to create both simple and complex workflows efficiently.

Automate.io boasts an extensive library of over 200 integrations, including well-known applications such as Salesforce, HubSpot, MailChimp, Gmail, Trello, and more. This breadth of integration options positions Automate.io as a versatile tool capable of catering to diverse automation needs, spanning across marketing, sales, and general business processes. Its templates further ease the deployment of common workflows, reducing the initial setup time for users.

However, recent developments have significantly shifted the landscape for Automate.io users. The acquisition by Notion has led to the platform's announcement of closure as of October. This change has led existing users to seek alternatives like Zapier, Make.com, and others, noting the necessity to transition before the platform ceases operations fully. Notion's acquisition hints at potential integrations and automation enhancements within the Notion ecosystem, leveraging Automate.ioโ€™s technology to boost its native capabilities.

The announcement of Automate.io's retirement has led to a mix of disappointment and anticipation. While some users lament the need to migrate their existing workflows to alternative platforms, others express eagerness to see how Automate.io's integration with Notion will enhance Notionโ€™s features. There is a palpable expectation for improved functionalities, such as database syncing and task automation, rooted in Automate.ioโ€™s existing technologies.

In summary, Automate.io has been praised for its cost-effectiveness, ease of use, and wide range of integrations, establishing itself as a formidable player in the automation space. The recent acquisition by Notion marks a turning point, driving existing users towards alternative solutions while simultaneously fostering anticipation for future enhancements within the Notion platform. As the automation landscape evolves, the influence of Automate.io on emerging integrated solutions is likely to endure.
