I might actually think that this might be some form of ddos protection, is connecting to a website using a browser and powershell methods are different, I managed to send 2 requests one on www.argos.co.uk and one with argos.co.uk and both passed, but only once, could be that they are looking at these sort of invokes as an attempt of ddos and thus are preventing them, but thats just me, also, invoke-webrequests...
