The depth control, not in the camera app, but in the photos app. Portrait mode images may be done using the depth control slider. After selecting edit, go to the top of the screen and choose the depth adjustment option. Below the picture is where you'll find the slider. I'll save you the trip to TMobile and just tell you what thay'd say: go straight to Apple, that's the only place your insurance is any good. If it's just lint, they'll clean it out for you free.
