  1. The Old Net is an attempt to restore vintage web browsing on vintage computers. It uses the Internet Archive: Wayback Machine API and a proxy that strips out any incompatible javascript and stitches together as many links as it can.

    Disclaimer: Apologies for the advertisement-esque title; I felt "List of Search Engines" wouldn't do the trick. I'm unaffiliated with these search engines and haven't interacted with their developers. I'm just some nerd on the net with a lot of time on my hands. I've also heard a lot of great things about Kagi, but don't have enough experience with the search engine to add it to this list. Not to mention it's subscription-based.
