One thing that helped me transition to a split board was a site like keybr.com or Monkeytype.com where I could practice touch typing. I got a Moonlander last year and during the first week I went from being a competent typist, to utter shit. I hadn't realized what a crappy touch typist I'd turned into over the years. Sort of the same situation. Writer here, and I spend about 10 hours a day at my desk.

Got mine a few weeks ago. It's awesome. typingclub.com's Typing Jungle lessons are great. I got the letters down pretty good, but I still need to get proficient with the special symbols. You can use keybr.com and use your own text to practice as well, which I'm using these days to practice all the special symbols.
