What I'd offer in addition to the other posts is the giant "secret menu" that you won't find on Spotify. A good portion of it can be found on YouTube. The most complete list of what TMG has put out is gonna be on discogs.com. All of those 90s comps with one or two tracks: those get conglomerated on Yam, The King of Crops, Bitter Melon Farm, and Protein Source of the Future…Now! That still leaves a whole lot of EPs like Moon Colony Bloodbath and Satanic Messiah. Luckily YouTube has filled the gap for listening to those, buying them on vinyl would set you back a couple hundred bucks these days. An example of the "rabbithole" of TMG that I like to share is Come, Come to the Sunset Tree. You've probably already discovered TST: it has This Year and other big hits that are pretty expected at live shows. JD released a vinyl set of demos for the album, CCttST, and that begs the question "why the old-timey language in front of it?" If you looked at TST's album cover, it's just a tree at sunset, ok, a time to reflect and be plaintive about this formative/traumatic time in your life, something like that, right? But the CCttST line leads you to Samuel Butler's "The Way of All Flesh" where we learn the story of a child being beat for his speech impediment, saying "Tum, Tum" instead of "Come, Come" in this hymn. I could go on and on about these sorts of rabbitholes, I think I enjoy them the most when I discover them myself, though — my point here is that secret menu is not only about obscure and very limited releases, it's about all the rabbitholes you will uncover through so many TMG songs, stuff you hadn't heard of before.
