Handbrake - Easiest, quickest way to make H.264s that consistently look good. I never make H.264 straight out of the NLE any more. Even pooping out an DNx from Avid and feeding it into Handbrake is a smidge faster than going direct to DNx from Avid, plus I can use the CQ mode to maintain visual fidelity without having to fiddle with bitrates.
