Pull the crown out all the way to the third position. The second hand will stop (known as a hack feature) to allow you to precisely set the time. One important note when setting an automatic, you generally don't want to set the watch between 10PM and 2AM, just because that's when the watch mechanism is shifting the date for the day, and it can be a little hard on the movement. A few times won't hurt, but it's best to avoid that time of day. Anyhow, now we can set the time. Though it is normal for an automatic to drift a few seconds per day, I like to set mine precisely. I usually go to time.gov, time.is or timeanddate.com to get a good reference time. Miyota movements like the one in this watch usually allow you to move the crown either direction to set the hands forward or backward. But best practice is to usually do most of your moving forward. Turn the crown clockwise to move the hands forward. Note where the small 24-hour hand is showing so you can set the watch to the right 12-hour period. If you are setting the time at 3PM, and the small 24-hour hand is up in the brown section (meaning 3AM), then keep turning the crown to move the hands a full 12 hours until you have the hour and minute hands at the correct time in and the 24-hour complication shows the right half of the day. In this example, the 24-hour hand will show 3PM in the silver hemisphere. Don't worry about getting the date set yet. Now, look at your time.gov or other time source. Note the minute and seconds. Where did your second hand stop on the Aerojet? Let's say your second hand stopped at 7 seconds and the time is 3:11 PM on your time source. Ah, let's move the second hand to 3:12 on your watch and look at your internet time source. Put your finger over the crown. When the internet clock shows 03:12:07, that's when you gently push the crown back in which will start the seconds hand ticking again.
