How to use Manga Updates for fun and profit (ft Novel Updates too!)

Novel Updates is similar (not run by the same people) but focuses on novels and has the infamous Spoiler forum that readers can reveal and discuss novel spoilers. Both sites work roughly the same with the exception of novel updates linking directly to fan translation releases and manga updates just telling you who released what. Also manga updates does not keep up with officially released translation chapter count, just how many chapters are out in the origin country.

Baka-Updates Manga

Baka Updates Manga (or Manga Updates as it's more commonly known) is a manga series database that has been around for about 14 years. They do not host manga or any kind of media but host forums for scanlation groups to recruit new blood, discussion threads, weekly polls and run the site like Wikipedia - anyone can edit release information, tags, info on publishers, etc but they are more stringent than Wikipedia in that they come down hard on false information and joke releases.
