For navigation apps, you have open-source solutions like OSMand+ (it's free on F-Droid) and MagicEarth. You also have GMaps WV, which is a sorta sandboxed version of Google Maps from the DivestOS group you can install on any android device, if you want/need access to that for whatever reason.

Another option is using a device like a OnePlus 8T, 9, or 9 Pro with CalyxOS as well. I can't speak for the experience on those devices, but I imagine it'll be pretty sound overall.
