I bought a car last year, and I disagree with using Craigslist, far more dangerous since its anonymous, and much more likely for scams. Scams are easy to spot on Facebook marketplace, if you see a 15K vehicle listed for 2K, scam. If they list a separate email to message, scam. If you look at their other listings and they have the same vehicle listed in 10 different cities, scam. But if you want to find dealership cars, the copilot app does a good job of finding stuff and letting you know whether things are overpriced. Good websites are cars.com and autotrader.com. Unfortunately the smaller dealerships don't submit their inventory to most of these sites so you just have a drive around and find your favorites. Toms autosales has several locations, and everyone I talked to there was nice and low pressure. Good luck!
