    My personal use case is a little bit different as I am doing this on an old Mac I am using as a home server, so I am using a Pushcut automation server to get around the fact that this particular mac doesn‘t have Shortcuts. If you want to know more about that, I can get into further detail.

    If you need additional conditions other than time, I would recommend using Shortcuts (you can trigger a specific Shortcut from a shell script by adding the following command osascript -e 'tell application "Shortcuts Events" Run shortcut "NameOfTheSpecificShortcutYouIntendOnRunning" End tell') and even a couple of virtual switches exposed to HomeKit via Homebridge to narrow down the instances at which you want your backups to run.
