There's also an app, Mealime, which can help with this whole process. I find their recipe selection to be a bit limiting though.

Allrecipes Dinner Spinner

A thing that helps me is to have a small whiteboard that I keep on my refrigerator, and once a week I'll go to Allrecipes or Epicurious or the like and find recipes to make, and then build a shopping list from there.
