Thing is, we need to remember what ruined your Chromebook: The CPU went up every time it was used. Chances are, the emulator you used prolly inserted malware as Chromebooks can run Linux apps, and by proxy Linux malware. However, OpenEMU is not malware, and it is not malicious, so you should be safe. Keep in mind that if you want to keep the PC from having high CPU, GPU, and RAM usage, you'll need to avoid emulating any of the heavier consoles, like the Gamecube and PSP. Don't worry, though; it'll only take up power when it's running/ Turn it off and it won't take up CPU.
