Getting Minecraft 1.18.1 running on Pop!_OS 21.10 (MultiMC, OptiFine, Fabric, OptiFabric)

Based on the tutorials I could find, it should work as simply as it does on Windows, where you go to the OptiFine website, download the version of OptiFine you want, and then run the jar file to get the familiar window to install in the vanilla launcher. This tutorial is what I was following when I was still trying to run this.

MultiMC

I installed MultiMC from their website. They have a package for Debain/Ubuntu systems. You can use this video to walk through that piece. He's using Linux Mint, but that's Ubuntu-based.
