Socket.io

I've done lots of backend stuff with Node including socket.io, just never made a realtime game like this 🤣. So Redis for storing all the state, and it can handle lots of read-write asynchronously? (Excuse me for my ignorance... I've not really used Redis before.) Also, once the player is done playing, do I just delete all their data?
