Can you help me go from teaching to cybersecurity?

  1. Our mission is to give everyone a voice and show them the world.
Here are some general ideas that I and my boss use to improve cyber personnel. The first one is to get a small book, like 3.5x5.5 size. Any time you hear something that you don't understand, you write it down in the book. If you have some free time, you do some research (like 5 mins a day) on a topic within the book. That book will have a large list in the beginning but eventually you will outpace it. It is also beneficial to know how you learn, so for me I learn best by taking notes on it. I use a larger book, like 7.5x9.5 dotted, and use 2 color pens with tabs to write down the information. This sticks in my brain the best and I can always go back to my larger note book if I have forgotten something. I tend to bounce around a bit but it generally has some basis on my work. So I went from the Kill Chain to Networking over to Linux CLI to Python. This is all the topics that I have gone over since the beginning of 2021 to now. After Python, I am going back to Linux and then looking at Security Management. Also take a look at humblebundle.com to see if they have a book bundle that you like. It is legit and the bundles can help you out. If you learn best with videos then take a look at udemy.com or youtube.com. Udemy courses can be free or expensive but you can take a look at the quality of the course. Youtube is free but it is a lot harder to see the quality of the video because you can not see the ratio of the likes to dislikes. If you are more of a hands on person than you are going to go for CTFs. There are multiple CTFs and I don't use them so I can't really speak on them.
