There are companies other than FAANG that do pay well. Check out levels.fyi. My first job out of the coding bootcamp was at a smaller company but I did get a slight bump in pay compared my previous SE job. I worked there for two years and really enjoyed it. WLB was a lot better compared to SE too. I'm now at FAANG with more than double pay and couldn't be happier with the switch.
