    Also, if you want to stay with Android, you can look at LineageOS - it's essentially a de-googled Android. It's not a perfect solution, but way better than whatever stock OS your phone came with. Device support is inherently limited, since every phone explicitly needs to be ported to, another reason why pure Linux phones are such a big deal.

It's the best privacy/security you'll get with android but most google.dependant apps will at least complain and potentially not work (e.g. Banking apps that rely on SafetyNet). Somewhat of a compromise is CalyxOS. It's not as strict but makes up for that in usability.

    Anbox is at proof of concept stage for postmarketos I think. The nice thing about projects like these is that there are no artifitial restrictions, so the question is not whether it's possible, but who would do the programming work, and with open source Linux projects, it's relatively easy.
